Documents are stored in the same blob store that Zimbra uses for storing mail message bodies: underNote that the folder structure and filenames that you see in the Zimbra app are not mirrored on the server's filesystem.Code:/opt/zimbra/store/0/{mbox-id}/msg
Is that likely to change in future releases? Are Documents apt to get their own namespace?
thank you for replying. I wanted to see how using the zimbra document management would work out for sharing that directory via samba to another application (on windows server) to index documents.
since the mail files are there as well, this doesn't look like it's going to be a pretty sight. It also looks like a bad idea.
We also have novell groupwise 7 and it's document management system is better than zimbra but still not everything we need. I think we're going to have to purchase a serious document management system. filesharing on a server just doesn't work well anymore. web-based applications are better than this but need a way to access the documents.
Thank you,
Oskar
Can you share the document folder via WebDAV?
You may have a hard time finding a content management system whose data store involves a folder you can share via samba which contains a full set of documents. Most CMSes don't represent their internal data in that manner.
Where are document attachments and imbedded graphics files stored?
After I save a document with graphics or attachments, they are not accessible. The graphics don't show up, and the links for attachments yield "No such item."
Thanks!
Upgrading to 4.5.6 resolved this issue for us. Documents now seem to be working very well - still giving it a shakedown.
