Default Problem with auto reply and forwarding

Hi Folks,

I have the following problem with zimbra (Version 4.5.6_GA_1024.RHEL4 27.06.2007):

we require the away message for our customers (no problem to configure it),
but the mail is also supposed to be forwarded (vacation representation) to
another user and the mail must be discarded on the mailbox of the first user.

Does not work or better how is supposed to be configured that?

Does someone have here a tip?

Thanks and Regards,

Tomas

In your options, fill in the info that says, "Address for new notifications"

That should do it.

what part doesn't work?

if you put in a froward address and put and check 'Don't keep a local copy of messages' what happens?

if you don't see these options be sure they're enabled in the 'features' tab of the user/cos in the admin console
"allow user to specify a forwarding address" is in the forwarding tab

Hi,

thank your both for the fast information.

I 'll exactly describe a little bit more about this problem:

USER1 goes on vacation and the incomming mails should forwarded to USER2. Also an away mail must be send to the sender and the mail are not supposed to be saved into the mail box of USER1.

If I configure only the "away message" it works fine, but when I configure " Disable local delivery" and "forwarding", this both options works fine but not the away message.

THX for your help,

Tomas

in your testing-did you: enable away messages, send a test email, enable forwarding, then when you sent a 2nd test message you got no email?
That would be because only one copy of the away message is sent to a sender per away message cycle.

If I get a spare sec I'll try this out using some new blank accounts to see if your issue of 'doesn't work when both enabled' is a bug. (like if the forwarding happens first and never comes in properly to trigger an away message)

I know about this thing! I tested with different mail accounts. But, when I enable "forwarding" it doesn't work (away message).

Hi Guys,

I am using ZCS 6.0.6 verson and facing the same issue...

Our users want to enable 'auto reply' with 'forwarding + don't keep local copy of messages' at a time..individullay both features are working fine but if we try to do combination of it then 'auto reply' not working ...

Please update ..is there any other configuration need to do in this version...??

Please help.

Thanks

same question here, for my situation when users resign, we want to:
1) auto-reply that the user has resigned
2) forward incoming emails to the manager
3) not keep a local copy in this email box

If I do (1) and (2) but not (3), it works fine.

But as soon as I enable (3), (1) never works, i.e. the forwarding always works, but if I don't keep a local copy, zimbra never sends an auto-reply

Anybody figure out how to get this to work?

P.S. Found some related bugs:
1) http://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=24752
2) http://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=26818

looks like no workaround!
