The only thing I have noticed with the palms (I have witnessed this on more than one phone mine and a collegue of mine) Is that if you have the Palm to Sync Automatically it will usually fail but if you go in and manually sync it everytime you check your e-mail it will usually go through with no problems,
I don't know if this helps or not but I found the information useful when I noticed this.
