Actually, upon further thought, this won't necessarily break upon an upgrade. I'm not advocating making the web.xml file different than would be normally be generated via zimbra.web.xml.in, but simply creating/modifying it manually.
As long as manually modified web.xml matches that of what an automatically generated web.xml file would be, this won't break for anyone upon an upgrade.
