Well, of course you do. Your system is in the Trusted Network and anyone in YOUR Trusted Network can send mail to the outside world without authentication - they are the only people that can send and that's why, when an external user authenticates (he becomes part of the Trusted Network because he's connected to your server on the LAN) he can send mail outside your network.
