So I looked through the error log and found this invalid response to UID FETCH:
* 341 FETCH (INTERNALDATE "" UID 495892 BODY[] {7705} ...)
Clearly it is wrong for the server to send an empty internal date, so this is causing fetch to fail for that particular message. Could you please tell us with which server you are trying to use zdesktop?
