That is for authentication at the ZCS end. With ATT DSL, they block outgoing port 25, and force you to use their SMTP as a relay, but it requires auth.
This is one of the reasons I'll probably be dumping ATT and going back to Time Warner. That, and their damn DHCP changes my IP on a _very_ regular basis, and it's very annoying. |
