No to both. :-(
If you upgrade to 5.0.5 -- which is relatively quick and painless, and fixes a lot of small bugs -- then you can reliably mount the resource calendars on your account and use the checkboxes to view multiple calendars either side-by-side or as day/week/month overlays. You can log on to the resource and make its calendar "public," or use a group if it needs to be more fine-grained. The zmmailbox command line (but not the web interface) also allows granting access to "all," which means any logged-on user.
Here's some issues to be aware of. Most are reasons that you need to upgrade from 5.0.1 to 5.0.5, but a couple are open discussions.
