You can try to set bigger timeouts
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Zimbra\Connection\SendT imeout
Timeout is in millisecods.

Also you change additional timeouts:
ReceiveTimeout
OptionReceiveTimeout
ConnectTimeout
