thanks Thanks Sturgis, I have continued to try. I have successfuly uninstalled and reinstalled zimbra and it works again! During today as I have been doing the initail sync on a large email account this issue occured several times. Each time I just reinstalled! At least the emails already downladed are kept each time! Hopefully the sync will be finished soon and I can see if Zimbra is more stable.
