I had mixed feelings when Yahoo bought Zimbra. Impossible to know what Yahoo wants to do with the technology in the long run. I've come around to the conclusion that as long as Yahoo lets the model grow and maybe nudge it along the direction it wants to go naturally, that is the best thing for Zimbra.
The more successful Zimbra is as a competitor to Exchange, the better. Being owned by Yahoo opens up more marketing possibilities.
Does anyone know what Yahoo's plans are for Zimbra?
If Yahoo is Zimbra friendly (for the existing community) then that is better than being divested and snapped up by a less Zimbra friendly company. |
