On the certificate, did you try loading the certificate first? I am not a programmer, but I used Windows Mobile Team Blog : Introducing the SslChainSaver
and then got ssl to work for the pocket outlook client.

It's not something I can just pass out from what I can tell. Basically I went to IBM's site and jumped through hoops for hours until I found it lol ... zipped up it's about 85MB but I'll look to see if I can find a link or something to how I got it all. Installation was a snap, getting it took some hunting
