Here's a generic question for anyone (maybe Kevin H?): if we configure Sugar to use SMTP for outgoing (to be sent by the Zimbra server) and not worry about incoming and stuffing it into Sugar (relying on Zimbra client for incoming and all responding), should we be good to go?
We are primarily only going to use Sugar's outgoing emailing capability to do email campaigns. We will still use Zimbra for our individual email.
Since we aren't yet talking about zimlet integration of SugarCRM, I was hoping someone could provide at least some insight on the SMTP out of Sugar. |
I've just tested mailing from SugarCRM using Zimbra as the SMTP server and it is pretty straght forward. As Admin go to Admin->System/Configure Settings and enter your mail server details. Choose an account that you want to use for authentication (I tested using the Zimbra Admin account).
To enable users to e-mail from within SugarCRM you'll have to enter their own mail details too.
Hope this helps?
