As I'm novice to Linux thought this thread will help me install Zimbra but it does not help me to configure my MX record in DNS. Can anyone help me with this step by step? The documentation about DNS assumes I know about scripting language or something as it does not make sense to me. Is there not a tool I can use that will setup my DNS for me.

My Windows mail server is collapsing and after seeing what Zimbra can do I'd love to use it.
You don't actually say which operating system you're using, which is it? Setting up a DNS server is fairly straightforward but it will take some effort to learn the basics of what you're doing. If you are behind a NAT router then you will need a Split DNS set-up, you can either follow the instructions in the 'DNS In A Nutshell thread (search the forums for that) or the Split DNS in the wiki article. Post the details of the /etc/hosts file so we can see if it's correct.
