What about maintenance mode for backups? If zimbra is set to maintance mode and then /opt/zimbra is backed up would that keep everthing in sync?
What is the command to make zimbra go into maintenace mode? I have used
su zimbra then
zmcontrol maintenace
but this might be akward using bacula
IMPORTANT how do i check if zimbra is in maintance mode does not seem to hit the zimbra log anywhere
ps i am using the command
/opt/zimbra/bin/zimbra stop
then taking my backup then running
/opt/zimbra/bin/zimbra start
However when i do zmcontrol status during backup i get
ERROR: service.FAILURE (system failure: getDirectContext) (cause: javax.naming.CommunicationException shoemasters.com:389)
I am thinking this is ok just means zimbra is really really shut down right?
After running backup and the zimbra start command mentioned above zimbra comes back online and everything is good agian. |
