check /var/log/zimbra.log (& /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log while your at it)

You may just need to change the mode:
su zimbra
zmtlsctl mode (replace mode with https, mixed, or both) descriptions are here:

zmcontrol stop
zmcontrol start
