Thank you Henry, this remedy worked.
I uninstalled the connector.
I renamed the MAPISVC.inf in C:\Program Files\Common Files\SYSTEM\MSMAPI\1033 to MAPISVC.old
I ran the Office 2003 installer and chose repair. This placed a new MAPISVC.inf (16KB) in the folder
I ran the ZCO installer and it completed successfully!
Everything works in Outlook.
