Open Source software’s used in zimbra are still free to be used as they are so no money will go to them.
On the other hand as zimbra/yahoo "still" be supporting OSS version. Then maintaining and improving OSS version is kind of what is "paid back" to open source community.

This is where the worry is. If the Zimbra employees are now bound by NDA etc they will stop writing code for OSS and the new features that appear in the NE version will not get put into OSS so basically the OSS version stagnates. In the mean time any new features added by 'the community' get implemented into the NE version. You don't see all of the features that are in NE in OSS now so why would one expect anything new to filter into OSS in the future?
