Well, I've tryed using the console and deploying the zimlet... it tells me that deploying it works ok, but I can't seem to find it in the admin interface as module installed. Done the same thing for google maps and everything works just fine.

Maybe you've already found the solution, but I've just had exactly the same issue.
The problem come from the archive, all the files are in a directory 'com_zimlet_gtranslator', and it seems that Zimbra wants the files under the root directory of the archive.
To correct it, I've unpacked the Zimlet zip archive and repacked it without any directory.
