How to auto-share calendars to new staff members? Background
We have multiple calendars shared to all staff, via a share to a group that contains all staff members, similar to "everybody@ourcompany.com".
We have a 'fake' account that contains calendars shared to all staff, and we also have several 'resource' accounts that share their calendars to all staff for room bookings. The Problem
Whenever a new staff member joins the company, they are added to the 'everybody@ourcompany.com' group. This means they inherit permissions to access the shared calendars.
However, they do not have the e-mail that activates the share and makes the calendar appear on their UI. As a result, we need to manually go into every calendar and share the calendar specifically with them, so that the e-mail is generated. We then 'revoke' the permission without sending an e-mail, so as not to make the Sharing list overly big (they keep access permissions via the 'everybody' permission grant).
This is a big process to go through for every new staff member. The Question
Is there an easier way to give new staff members access to shared calendars in their UI?
