The problem with the java vm is likely to be the lack of memory, there are a couple of threads (do a quick search) about reducing the memory footprint of Zimbra but you're better off adding more memory.
As I said earlier, you may or may not have some success running that version on FC5 but the problem then becomes trying to troubleshoot anything that may go wrong on your system. My advice would still be to install the correct version of Zimbra for the operating system that you have.
