glitch23, thank you for pointing me in the right direction. it was the syslog(or rather syslog-ng) config that wasn't sending the info to the main box.
I am now getting the status for both servers being displayed.
A question you may be able to answer for me: should I get the graphs displayed for both servers? the edge server is just displaying 'data not yet available'. Do I just need to wait for the graphs to be calculated i.e wait till tomorrow before getting concerned?
