I'm more of a RedHat/Fedora guy, but I just did a quick Google search for Ubuntu DNS, and it appears you are working with the right configuration files.
I think the error you are getting may indicate a configuration problem, most likely with the db file. Check in your system logs for messages related to named. It may give you a hint of what is wrong. |
