Sounds like a good plan Zimbra silos its mailbox data on a per-account basis, so this should work well for you. Just add a new Zimbra server in each of the locations and move the local employees' mailboxes to the new server. That way everyone's mailbox is homed right where they work, and response times should be good. (You'll have to admin multiple servers in multiple locations in that case, but it seems like a good tradeoff.)
When you access a shared calendar on another host, you'll see slightly slower response times as the responses are auto-proxied internally over the WAN. |
