If the functionality discussed in the bug 10137 is implemented in version 4.5.x which I'm currently evaluating, then why doesn't it work right now (did you read the entire thread before responding?). This is what doesn't work at the moment;
- Through the connector you can't set permissions for a shared recourse based on distributionlists, only users.
- When adding shared data to your profile, you can only select users, not distributionlists.
This at least is how it works in my copy of Zimbra (the virtual appliance version with connector version 4.5.148).
