It wasn't the firewall or Selinux (I disabled them both). The fact that there are alot of threads about this doesn't indicate something lacking in the users, it indicates something wrong with the PRODUCT.
Anyway, I wiped it all out, removed all traces of it and reinstalled, now it all works.
