I just recently created some new tags for specific mails, and cannot find a feature I dearly wish to have.
Can tag parameters not be run/checked against past messages?
Just for instance, I have messages coming from a mailing list, which I want a specific colored tag next to.
I set up and filter and all new messages get it, but not all old messages?
Is there a one click: "Run on old messages" button that I'm not seeing?
I hope I don't have to search for all the messages, and manually assign it to all of them...

Well, for what it's worth, Zimbra does make this real easy.
All I did was use the Search Builder to make the search identical to the tagging filters in the first place, click the first, shift click the second, right click, and select the tag.
Wham bammo it's all done.
I would still like a button that just says "run filter" or perhaps "tag all" or something, in the tagging setup window, so that next time I do create a new tag, I don't have to take the time to build an identical query.
Yes? No? Maybe So?
