Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity." Our sales guys almost certainly weren't lying to you, but I could believe that they got the license expiration effects wrong.
We can't change the effect of license expiration for you, as it's built into the software. If you'd like, you can call or email your sales person and explain what they got wrong.
