Did you su - zimbra first?
Admin Guide, chap 9 worked for me though.
From Chap 9:
To turn off access from a COS ( Class Of Service )
Type: zmzimletctl acl <zimletname> <cosname> deny
To disable a Zimlet on the Zimbra server
Type: zmzimletctl disable <zimletname>
Example: zmzimletctl acl com_zimbra_amzn default deny
Example: zmzimletctl disable com_zimbra_amzn
Is this what you tried and it didn't work?
