The lack of priority for 64bit systems amazes me. Almost every new server we build for clients is 64bit, and it's been that way for over a year. I think there has been a major underestimation of the size of the 64bit market, which I don't know how you do your research (please tell me its more than a poll & thread), but it's growing at a faster than moore's law pace.
Just think about the fact that it's a "Web 2.0" application that runs on only "Web 1.0" hardware. |
We follow the $$$. When there is critical mass of $$$ to support the costs of supporting/testing another OS port then it will be completed. As you see the most recent dev release has 64bit support on RedHat. So technically it works. Just depends on the customer demand for when we'll certify it for use. If your interested please drop a note to our
sales@zimbra.com address. They can take your info and deal size etc and place you on a list so you can be notified as soon as we release it.
