Well, I realized I could just
try it, since it's enabled on Hotmail's end now (duh).
I used the
settings here but when I click save I get this error:

I looked for that text and found
this page, which shows:

LiveMustUseLiveOrPop = You may only use either a Live Hotmail or POP account type for Windows Live Hotmail accounts.
So I think Zimbra isn't even trying to validate the settings, it just sees hotmail in the address and throws that error.
