Thanks for trying out the appliance - I'm sorry you're all having so much trouble. The error you're seeing indicates a failed operation early in the configuration of the appliance, that's breaking the domain creation; possibly related to a network hiccup during install.
Can you all verify the version of the appliance (607_341) and the VM software that you're using? (eg, is everyone seeing this on VMware server v. 2, or is it showing up on ESX/ESXi, etc?)
Lastly, there's a diagnostic link in the toolbar (far right) that will allow you to download the appliance config log.
If you could attach that to the opened bug (
https://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=49890), it would help us to diagnose this. (Mark it private if you don't want your domain info visible in the bug).
If you have run into this problem, try simply removing and re-deploying the VM, and see if it recurs - it may be a transient error. If you try that, please post your results, we're interested in those as well.
