The procedure in the Blog does work , did you follow the instructions exactly? You're not giving much information on what the problem is and 'something like that' doesn't allow anyone to give an answer. From the fact you've mentioned an LDAP problem I'd hazard a guess that your DNS isn't set-up correctly. Have a look in the
log files and see what errors you've got.
