I work in a school, and what we do is have a Prism install on the machines, but point it to the web client on the local ZCS installation. This is launched via a custom-made C# application which logs the user straight in via the pre-authentication feature. This gives users the benefit of not having to type in their credentials again, but also presenting email as another application, separating it from other internet/web-based activities.

Running ZCD on the workstations might use up too many resources (depending on specification). As long as your server is up to it, I see no reason why your users shouldn't access the web client.
