Where you able to find a solution for this? I'm getting a similar error.
It's weird because if I do not use SSL, then the search works fine. Also, authentification works fine when I use SSL.
My LDAP filter is:
(|(cn=%s*)(sn=%s*)(givenName=%s*)(mail=%s*))
