I have solved this. I went onto the client machine and went to:

Code:
\DEVICE\HARDDISKVOLUME1\PROGRAM FILES\ZIMBRA\ZDESKTOP\STORE\0\2\MSG\2\10939-23029.MSG
deleted the message and reindexed the mailbox.

i went wrong looking on the server when i should have been looking on the client.
