Personally I've never run Zimbra on OS X because that just seems like a big waste of money when it runs on a Linux server anyway, but that seems like it should raise some flags to me.
Also, Zimbra isn't the only pay-for commercial application that needs to be supported and patched here. If the bug was submitted to Apple and you carry a support agreement with Apple, then Apple needs to look into it. I agree that it's frustrating when vendors tell you that it's a bug with a third party product to them, but I'm not sure how you get around that unless you run something like an Apple mail server where the same company supports the whole product from the hardware all the way up to the application.
Anyway, I don't have anything terribly useful by way of troubleshooting, but I thought I'd throw that out there. |
i understand the 'beta' thing. my frustration lies in the fact that other software developers have seemingly gotten around this 'issue' within their software so why can we not get some resolve and also the fact that i ran GA 5 in production for several months without issue ...its not like we just one day woke up and bought all the hardware and ZCS license without testing it extensively. The 'BETA' thing is a loose term. This issue intermittent or not is a show stopper...thus in my opinion doesnt qualify the OSX version for BETA status. I would not even expect it to show up on the downloads page as it is misleading (unless a disclaimer that read 'this is probably not going to work at all so beware') My choice of hardware is made for many reasons.... ease of administration being one of them. Moving from PC's in the building to all macs is another one. Linux is a great OS, however, on the desktop its not really a good business choice (i wish it were). I have two application servers and a oracle server that both run CENT OS so i understand the value of linux. im not sure why people have to 'mac bash'. Most of the time those are the same folks that have not ever owned one or used one at all. the hardware / platform is not really the debate here anyway and is OT.
