With email downloader, when I save a mail with an attachment, in the tgz I get a .eml file and a .meta file. I don't get directly the attachment files. As I said, you need a mail client to open the .eml file to read the mail and get the attachments. |
Yeah, you are right, they are not exactly the same but you dont need to import it to Zimbra to read it as well.
The thing is, its an email file, so, simply doubleclicking on it would open it in outlook or thunderbird or applemail or entaurage etc -most users would have one of these pre-installed, so they should be fine. And they can access it along with attachments as well, so, I see a lot of advantages - but its just an option.
