I want to try to install the Zimbra Web Interface, but have it connect to a remote LDAP, IMAP and CALDAV server. I see that something similar is done with Oracle Collaboration Suite (Beehive), so I think that its possible. This is mostly an experiment I would like to do to put a web based interface on a caldav only server, and mail access is just a side-effect

Does the /zimbra web app use standard protocols like IMAP/CALDAV/LDAP/etc to access backend services, or does it connect directly to the "data store" ?
