Well, every business has to consider costs so you can't fault them for looking for ways to save. I don't think reducing the number of platforms you compile for is creating any great cost savings though. They would be better served automating their build service. Ultimately they will lose business to products that run on OpenSuSE, and maybe they are okay with that given the low numbers perception.
