Internet Explorer works Better? Ironically, trident based browsers (IE) seem to work fine for spreadsheet editing. I have tried Opera (which is so far behind that I think it just camped out in 1990), Safari, Firefox (and its alternatives) in Windows, Linux, and OSX. The only one that can seem to edit a spreadsheet correctly in the ajax client is IE.
Does someone know if I am missing something here? Firefox and Safari require that I double click on each individual cell. I filed the bug but something like that doesn't draw much attention because people are concentrating on the many other things Zimbra provides.
I think it would be great to use small power saving pico-atx units for employees and completely remove Microsoft from the equation. The need for a spreadsheet in the web client seems to be a dealbreaker though. Sure I could use other alternative (like openoffice) but the point was to only require a web browser that would work with Zimbra and that can be run in Linux (or any other open source OS).
Anyways, if someone has any information on this please feel free to help. I'd love to be able to edit a spreadsheet properly in the Zimbra ajax client without using IE to do so. |
