Currently ZD can't not be installed under %PROGRAMFILES% : Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop - Zimbra :: Wiki, known issues (3).

Here is the workaround:

1) stop ZD service (Administrative Tools->Service->Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop Service->stop

2) backup these 3 folders: derby, index and store

3) uninstall ZD completely.

4) rerun ZD installer and install it at suggested default location: /Users/<user name>/AppData/..."

5) after successful installation, stop ZD service again

6) copy over those 3 folders you have backed up earlier, overwriting the ones at new installation location.

7) start ZD

Now it's broke, seriously, great joke but it's not April 1st quite.

Here's all my pertinent info:

I don't want to lose my mail, obviously.

It doesn't matter if I used the link or startup zdesktop.exe from explorer.
