this is not the problem. the problem is that most imap clients mark the message as \Deleted and then hide such flagged messages prior to expunge. this is also the case if you move a message which in imap speak is a copy+delete. so if you delete or move messages from an imap client, before you expunge or logout/expunge, they still show up as normal messages in the zimbra webUI. for an account that is shared between different people using different clients, as is common with an info@ or webmaster@ account in larger organizations, this is very confusing behaviour. this may not be the way zimbra like us to use email, but thats the way it happens, like it or not. to not give an option to make these flagged messages obvious or hide them is simply incorrect. |
