I started walking through the split DNS and got through the majority of it until starting named, which I apparently don't have. I had to leave for work at that time so I gave up for the time being but by the time I got to work, I was receiving e-mail again. I'm not really sure which part did it, but sure enough, it works. I just hope there aren't any open security issues now....
