same error - another scenario I got the same FileNotFound error and the Desktop server would stop when setting up my Y!mail for the first time and Zimbra Desktop(ZD) was sync'ing up all the emails for the first time.
After repeating the setup a few times, realized that there was an old email with a worm/virus attachment, which the Microsoft OneCare software immediately detects and makes the msg unaccessible. ZD tries to open the downloaded message to add it to the redo log and fails. The ZD server abruptly stops here. The next challenge was to identify the message with the virus - based on the timestamp of the nearby messages found immediately before the failed one and the size of the failed message, was able to detect the message and delete it from Yahoo before starting ZD once again(only took about 2 hrs!)
So there you have it - a bug and the root cause.
