Zimbra Desktop is an offline client that lets you manage your various email accounts in one desktop tool. Zimbra mail, Yahoo! mail, Gmail, Outlook and any other work or personal email account using POP or IMAP is easy to set up in Zimbra Desktop. Each account is separately maintained.
After you set up your accounts, your email messages are downloaded to your computer and can be accessed whether you are connected to the Internet or not. See Working Offline. Email messages in all your accounts can be read, replied to, forwarded and deleted from Zimbra Desktop. Mail storage is based on your computer's disk space, not on a pre-defined account quota

Besides being able to access your different email accounts from one place, Zimbra Desktop also manages your contacts and has a calendar, task list application and a briefcase tool for storing your attachments.
See Overview of Zimbra Desktop Features for a list of key features.
The following email accounts can be set up.
Zimbra Account. You can use Zimbra Desktop to access your email account if it runs Zimbra. This includes email messages, folders, address books, calendars, task lists, and briefcase documents. To access a Zimbra account via a browser use the Zimbra Web Client. Preferences you set up in ZWC for your Zimbra account are available from the Zimbra Desktop. Note: To be able to access all the Zimbra features through Zimbra Desktop, Zimbra should be at version ZCS 5.0 or greater. Your Zimbra system administrator can let you know the Zimbra version number.
Yahoo! Mail. You can set up Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Mail Plus, Yahoo! Small Business, Ymail, or Rocketmail accounts. Your email messages, email folders, and address book are available from Zimbra Desktop.
Gmail. Your Gmail account must be set up to allow IMAP access. You may need to log into your Gmail account to enable IMAP. Your email messages and contacts are available from Zimbra Desktop.
Microsoft Exchange IMAP Account. Your Exchange IMAP account email messages are available from Zimbra Desktop.
If your account is not one of these, you can still set up the account on Zimbra Desktop if it is a POP3 or IMAP4 account. You will need complete setting information about your account, including incoming mail server, and outgoing mail server details. Your system administrator or Internet Service Provider can give you this information.
