- Satish Dharmaraj, Founder and CEO
- Prior to founding Zimbra, Satish was VP of the Messaging Product Division at Openwave Systems, responsible for the email, unified messaging, voicemail, and instant messaging product lines. Satish managed the engineering and product management teams which had over 200 people and a $45 million budget. While at Openwave, Satish's division deployed 180 million mailboxes worldwide with the largest deployments being 20 million mailboxes at JPhone and KDDI in Japan. Satish previously was part of the founding team at the unified messaging company Onebox, where he led engineering and network operations, and was instrumental in the sale of Onebox to Phone.com for $850 million. Prior to Onebox, Satish was at Sun Microsystems' JavaSoft Division where he was responsible for the conception, design and implementation of Java Server Pages (JSPs); in addition, he led the team that designed and implemented the Java Servlet API. Satish previously held several positions at IBM and Transarc Corporations. Satish has BS and MS degrees in Computer Sciences and an executive management degree from Harvard Business School.
- Scott Dietzen, Ph.D., President and Chief Technology Officer
- Prior to Zimbra, Scott was CTO of BEA Systems where he was the principal architect of the technology strategy for the WebLogic product family, which drove the company from $61 million in revenue for the year prior to WebLogic's acquisition to over $1 billion. He was also one of BEA's top spokespersons with customers, business partners, analysts, and the press. Scott came to BEA in 1998 via the $200+ million acquisition of WebLogic, a pioneer in Java and web application technology. He is credited with helping put together the J2EE standard, launching the Web application server category, launching the Java Community Process, and driving the web services collaboration with Microsoft and IBM. Prior to WebLogic, Scott was Principal Technologist for Transarc (acquired by IBM), a developer of distributed transaction and information sharing systems. He earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science and B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
- Eric Hahn, Investing Partner/Founder, Inventures Group
- Eric is a leading email technologist and visionary. He was previously founder of Collabra Software, and then Chief Technology Officer at Netscape. He also is founder and chairman of anti-spam leader Proofpoint, and founded the email-search company Lookout Software, acquired in 2004 by Microsoft. Under Eric's leadership, Netscape developed technologies such as LDAP, a commercial implementation of IMAP4, the Netscape Web Server, and products branded under Sun Microsystems' iPlanet name. Prior to Collabra, Eric was VP of Engineering for cc:Mail and become its divisional CEO after being acquired by Lotus in 1991. Eric is the Investing Partner/Founder of Inventures Group.
- Tim Haley, Founding Partner, Redpoint Ventures
- Tim Haley is a founding partner of Redpoint Ventures. Prior to Redpoint, Tim was a general partner with IVP, a firm he began working with in 1987 and joined in 1998. Tim focuses on investments in enterprise software and consumer Internet. Tim serves on the Boards of Directors of Glimpse, Homestead Technologies, Inc., Movaris, Netflix, Inc. (NFLX) and TheFind. He also led investments in Onebox.com (acquired by Openwave), Kendara (acquired by @Home), M7 (acquired by BEA), ChemConnect, Inc., and Responsys, Inc.
- Kevin Harvey, General Partner, Benchmark Capital
- Kevin is recognized as a leading investor and advisor to open source and other innovative software companies. Kevin is an investor and board member of MySQL, and previously served as investor and board member in Red Hat. Prior to Benchmark, Kevin was founder, president and CEO of Approach Software where he led the development of the world's first end-user client/server database for Windows. Approach Software was purchased by Lotus Development in 1993. Before founding Approach Software, Kevin founded Styleware and pioneered integrated software for the Apple II personal computer. Styleware was purchased by Claris Corporation where Kevin's team created ClarisWorks, one of the best-selling software programs for the Macintosh.
